Do good: What it means to be a corporate citizen at Kabbage
From the environment to urban renewal, Kabbage outlines its social commitments
Kabbage was founded with the simple idea of easing the burden on small businesses and we come to work every day with the goal of helping our customers thrive in their communities. We take the same approach with our corporate responsibility and have an unconditional commitment to the communities where we live, work, and play.
In that spirit, since 2009 the Kabbage Kares program has encouraged hundreds of team members to volunteer thousands of hours to support local communities across the U.S., and as far-reaching as Bangalore, India.
Over the past year, we have thought long and hard about what it means to be a “corporate citizen”. We’ve held team focus groups, collected feedback, and have put in the work so we make a meaningful impact now and in the years ahead.
At Kabbage, we know that team members are our most valuable asset, which is why we believe that engaging our collective skillset is the most effective way to truly deliver change. To that end, we value direct relationships where we have a sustained impact on our communities. Specifically, we will focus on:
Ensuring economic opportunity & entrepreneurship
We’re committed to helping each other succeed by expanding economic opportunity, practicing environmental sustainability, making our home towns better for everyone and setting the standard for excellence and ethics in our industry. Kabbage has helped hundreds of thousands of small businesses access billions of dollars of working capital and we’re committed to reaching more underserved and marginalized geographies.
Disaster response & recovery
Kabbage understands that small businesses face additional stress during natural disasters. In times of need, Kabbage will seek to assist our customers and communities rebuild, restore, and resume their business operations and daily lives. From recent hurricanes, Kabbage acted quickly to provide financial support for customers impacted by the storms.
We seek to mitigate the impact of our business operations on climate change and will continue to adopt environmentally sustainable practices. We will partner with organizations that demonstrate leadership in protecting our environment. Locally, Kabbage has already collected hundreds of pounds of plastic waste and non-organic materials from the Chattahoochee River in Georgia.
We will partner with organizations that make the places where we operate more livable for all by improving affordability, transportation options, food security, and economic development. As a first step, Kabbage sponsored two Habitat for Humanity builds in Atlanta, Georgia, providing safe and affordable housing for members of the community.
We welcome collaboration to support all efforts to ensure our communities provide the support our team and small businesses customers need to grow and thrive.
